Important amendments

  • Permit change/ amendment 

This is only for when information printed on the investment permit / endorsement needs to be changed as a result of changes regarding the investment.

  • Subsequent regular application 

These applications are mandatory applications such as applications for commencement of commercial operation and income-tax exemption to be submitted at the end of construction period and before the commencement of business. 

  • Subsequent major application

Reinvestment of profits with tax exemption or reinvestment of retained earnings without tax exemption.

  • Preparation of  documents (excluding documents to be prepared by separate professionals such as Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmetal Management Report, etc.)

  • Exemption or relief from import tax for construction materials or machines/ equipment to be imported during construction period.
  • Exemption or relief may be granted in the expansion of investment.
  • Myanmar Investment Commissions is the regulator of Myanmar Investment Law under which investment permits/ endorsements are issued.
  • Other relevant licenses such as construction permit, industrial license, environmetal certificate, fire safety certificate, electricity safety certificate, boiler cerficiate, export/import license, labor registration, foreign expatriate visa/stay renewal, etc. are regulated by respective departments.
